The role of Purchasing Officer is to ensure that the vessels, workshops, shipyards or other clients are supplied with authorized stores, spares and other products in a timely manner and approved costs consistent with Company Quality and Purchasing policies at the most competitive costs.
Sourcing materials, goods, products and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective deals;
Co-ordinate and manage the progress and delivery of orders, resolve any discrepancies;
Establishing professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers;
Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors;
Documenting of all activities, maintaining database up to date
