Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant who is looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a person who is ambitious and self motivated with excellent work ethics. You need to be comfortable working autonomously but also an engaged team player.

We are looking for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to join the Community Anticoagulation and Phlebotomy Service. The post holder will be required to work 22.5 hours per week which includes a commitment to work some weekends. You will be required to assist in the provision of an efficient Phlebotomy and Anticoagulation service, both within our community clinics and within patient’s homes. (Domiciliary)

You will need to have good communication ,excellent organisational skills, be flexible and able to manage your own work load. It is preferred that you have care worker experience as you are required to have close contact with patients and other healthcare professionals. This will require a caring and understanding approach and the ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a pressured environment. It would also be beneficial for the applicant to have up to date IT skills.

You MUST have a full UK driving license and have access to a car that can be used for work purposes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to work as part of the anticoagulation and phlebotomy service. After training they will be required to carry out near patient testing through the operation and control of Point of Care testing devices along with phlebotomy duties in various clinics across the Trust as well as patient homes. The anticoagulation support worker role is evolving to meet changes in service delivery.
