Our Cancer Centre, is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Cancer Services Clinical Business Unit as the Cancer Centre Manager. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding and proven track record of working to Cancer pathways within the NHS. The post holder will sit within the Cancer Services Clinical Business Unit, but they will be required to work closely with multiple teams across the trust that delivery Cancer Services. They will need to have good prior knowledge of NHS working at senior level.

The post-holder will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams (MDT), Service Managers and Clinical Leads to drive improvements in pathways and maintain the performance metrics. They will be directly responsible for the Cancer Centre team.

The successful candidate will be required to have excellent communication and team working skills to drive engagement across multiple teams and deliver good performance within services. This may involve complex discussions and problem solving.

You will be a role model to staff at all levels within Trust by displaying the highest standard of our values on a day to day basis.

To adhere to all Trust standards, policies, procedures and standing financial instructions, using key performance indicators for monitoring performance against these standards.

Understanding of the cancer waiting times standards and IOG’s (Improving Outcomes Guidance for cancer), and ensuring that the Divisions and Nursing & Patient Services understand these in sufficient detail to run their units successfully from a cancer perspective.

Co-ordination of the National Cancer Peer Review programme for United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, and supporting the multi disciplinary teams to complete the programme within the deadlines set by the National Cancer Peer Review Team, including cross organisational working with Nottingham Cancer Centre to complete joint self assessment of the specialist multi disciplinary teams.

Working with the Divisional General Managers, Deputy General Managers, Clinical Services Managers to identify capacity needed for delivery of cancer treatments. Understanding the constraints and understanding where performance is not achieving standard.

To coordinate the cancer PTL management meetings on a regular basis, ensuring that the Business Units have access to their cancer PTL and treatment reports as and when required.
