Roles & Responsibilities

Heavy Duty Drivers are responsible to carry loads from shipper’s facility to the consignee’s facility. It is their responsibility to drive safely and deliver the cargo to the consignee on time and in safe condition.

Collection and delivery of goods from/to its respective destinations as per the committed time schedule
Maintains telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions
Keeps record of materials and products loaded on truck before transporting it to its destination
Assists in loading and unloading
Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport.
Ensure the cargo/packages loaded on truck are properly stacked and kept avoiding any damages or loss.
Ensure to record all the relevant information with related to the cargo loaded on truck – no. packages, package type, weight, volume, payment mode etc. on KRT consignment note
Obtains customer signature on KRT consignment note as token of proof and collects payment for goods delivered, if instructed on KRT consignment Note
Carry out necessary checks on vehicle and issues if any identified should immediately report to the Terminal Assistant / Supervisor
Maintains truck logbook as per the company policy.
Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle.
Ensure the compliances of all safety measures with related to cargo handling and traffic regulations of the country.

Desired Candidate Profile

Must know how to drive heavy duty trucks, Knowledge and ability to follow directions
Must have strong built and healthy body to carry heavy loads and can stay motivated up to long hours of driving.
Must hold authentic driver’s license, knowledge in traffic signs and symbols.
Must have the ability and knowledge about fixing heavy duty trucks,
Must be courteous and polite to clients.
