You and your role As a Test Engineer within Digital Workplace you will be responsible for the testing of applications crucial to our delivery. This will include defining the appropriate depth and breadth of testing using a risk based approach, and ensuring the stability, robustness and reliability of test suites. You will work with other teams within the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure that technical solutions are lined-up. You need to have experience of test analysis and have a solid tech background. And knowledge and experience of Agile/Lean would be helpful. You’ll have the test skills to design and build the technical setup and working methods for continuous integration, delivery and deployment.. What are we looking for? You can build and deliver comprehensive, robust and reliable automated test frameworks and automation suites to provide full coverage of business requirements. You can maintain full traceability of defects, tests and requirements. You can design, build and maintain an effective test infrastructure. You can create and maintain appropriate documentation within the test automation code base. You have knowledge of the latest technical test tools and where it would be beneficial to apply them. You have experience of developing and maintaining reusable libraries and services. Where will you work? DWP Digital is a community of digital professionals within DWP, the largest government department. Our digital services are delivered from 6 modern, open and flexible hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield. You’ll join the Digital Workplace team in Manchester . In our brilliant new Manchester hub we have the best of the city on our doorstep, with loads of great places nearby to meet, eat or to soak up a bit of culture. We have brilliant views over St Peter’s Square, looking out over Central Library and the Town Hall. We’re really handy for the train and the tram, and we have a basement level lock up (with showers) for your bike.
