Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all electrical site activities, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems. This role requires a comprehensive review of drawings from the Engineering department, management of material submittals, and coordination with consultants for approvals. The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will ensure compliance with authority guidelines and manage subcontractor activities to align with project QA plans and timelines.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee electrical site activities, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
* Review engineering drawings and raise internal queries for any site implementation issues.
* Review material submittals from vendors and ensure document quality before submission to consultants.
* Submit materials, drawings, and method statements and follow up with consultants for approvals.
* Prepare RFIs for site issues requiring consultant or client approval.
* Order materials based on take-off quantities and follow up on deliveries to align with project progress.
* Manage subcontractor activities, ensuring work quality and progress align with the project QA plan and timeline.
* Maintain a log of all submissions and prepare handover documents.
* Ensure compliance with authority guidelines during construction.

Technical and Professional Skills:

* In-depth knowledge of electrical systems installation and testing.
* Proficient in electrical engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Dia lux, and VD calculation).
* Analytical mindset with the ability to resolve site technical issues.
* Effective decision-making skills under pressure.
* Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards.
* Proven team leader with strong behaviors and values.
* Experience in post-contract project phases.
* Knowledge of industry best practices and electrical systems.
* Strong understanding of DEWA rules and regulations.

Project Management Skills:

* Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
* Coordinate resources and activities to ensure timely project delivery.
* Oversee the implementation of electrical systems within the project.
* Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
* Coordinate and review technical drawings, schematics, and calculations.
* Source and evaluate electrical equipment and materials.
* Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
* Negotiate contracts and agreements for electrical services and supplies.
* Conduct quality inspections and tests to verify adherence to design and project requirements.
* Implement and maintain quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, clients, and project team members.
* Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project status, issues, and resolutions.
* Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
* Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
* Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
* Implement corrective actions to ensure project goals are met.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
* Prepare presentations and reports for project stakeholders and management.

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical site engineering.
