We are a fully remote accounting and consulting firm based in Ontario, with clients and the team spread nationwide. We take care of every financial service need our clients might have: payroll, bookkeeping, sales tax filing, corporate returns, and personal taxes. In addition, we are actively expanding into other more complex financial services areas, from comprehensive financial transactions to operational consulting to strategic support.

Right now, we have an opening for a very strong senior bookkeeper to supplement our team. While most of the responsibilities for this role will be bookkeeping-centric, additional support will be needed as we grow and evolve. Key duties

· Manage full-cycle bookkeeping function for multiple clients, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records.

· Strictly adhere to all company’s policies, procedures, timelines, and communication standards.

· Report on hours worked on a daily basis.

· Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate, sales, and personal taxes.

· Assist with Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions, including occasional follow-ups with the payees.

· Maintain and update accounting records and databases.

· Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

· Provide administrative support to the team and the management.

· Participate in company-wide training, development, and other initiatives

Required skills and qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks Online.

· Strong understanding of the Canadian sales taxes.

· Post secondary administration, business, or bookkeeping/accounting diploma or degree.

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

· High level of comfort with modern technology (payment gateways, payroll platforms, etc.) and operational changes.

· Corporate and personal tax filing experience while not required is considered a strong asset.

· Experience with accounting practice management platforms (TaxDome, Karbon, Canopy, etc.) is an asset but not required.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Online, Outlook.

· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

· Pro-active problem solver who enjoys looking for ways to improve/streamline processes.

· Professional verbal and written communication (English).

$30.00-$45.00 per hour
