About the role

We are looking for a Product Specialist for the passenger cars business to support UK market.

Location: Uxbridge, London

Key responsibilities:

• Report changes in local regulations, within relevant markets, to the Compliance team
• Liaise directly with Compliance to ensure BYD models comply with local laws and regulations
• Support the timely launch of new BYD products, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the delivery of type approval applications, insurance group ratings, Green NCAP ratings, and more
• Ensure availability and accuracy of all appropriate product data sources (including technical data) and price lists to retailers, including both internal and customer-facing materials and sources
• Provides ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by line manager
• Manage product demands from various stakeholders, including user groups, dealers, and local authorities or associations. To achieve this, you will collaborate with cross functional teams, including R&D, sales, business planning, and marketing, to convert the demands into product implementations that align with our product strategy.
• Manages local product campaigns, such as test-drive events and customer clinics, to help refine our product proposition, and raise awareness of our products and generate interest among potential customers.
• Contribute to strategic planning by providing solid facts, statistics, and professional opinions to the management team.

Required skills, qualifications and experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in automotive industry
• High level of attention to detail, analytical approach with process orientation
• Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrating “ownership” while being a team player
• Strong organisation skills with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication, written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Strategic thinking: Approach project thinking strategically while ensuring the operational details are on point
• Numerical and analytical with demonstrable attention to detail
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
• Valid driving license
• Bachelor’s degree
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
