The opportunity:

We are seeking a Product Manager (first line) to ensure that our Life insurance products are designed, distributed, and managed in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the insurance industry, regulatory frameworks, and governance practices.

What will you be doing?

• Hold oversight for ongoing regulatory compliance for our open to new business and closed book products with particular focus on compliance with the FCA Consumer Duty regulation
• Maintain up to date Product Governance risk profile of Open and Closed Book in collaboration with Business Areas and 2nd line
• Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and support the business in assessing impacts and improving controls where necessary to ensure that products are updated to comply with new regulations
• Review, design and implement robust internal policies, frameworks, procedures etc. to improve product governance across the business
• Prepare reports on product governance to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to the shaping of Board papers related to product governance; ensure papers accurately and clearly present information
• Hold oversight of the UK Life POG Action Plan; work with key stakeholders to embed good governance and ensure that they deliver their POG requirements in a timely manner
• Provide expert advice and proactive challenge on new product development, changes to existing products, and ongoing product reviews
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line business areas.
• Participate in governance committees and working groups to influence and drive governance best practices
• Participate in and provide support to UK Life Governance framework reviews, action plan tracking and general oversight of pan-Life governance activity

Who are we looking for?

• Excellent understanding of the UK Life regulatory landscape; with a focus on the application of regulation within the Life insurance (intermediated and direct to consumer) industry
• Provide Life market specific technical advice and counsel across the business
• Proven record of building strong and constructive relationships with business leaders/senior management
• Ability to articulate sophisticated concepts simply, excellent writing skills, with a keen eye for detail
