Amentum is seeking a Plumber or Water Systems Technician (WST) for a position located on a military installation in the UAE supporting the USAF. The Plumber will be responsible for performing all plumbing and water systems services to include repair, inspect, replace, maintain, connect/disconnect, etc as outlined in the USAF contract.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Plumber will also perform periodic inspections and maintenance on exterior and interior plumbing systems to include pumps, tanks, storm drains, and sewer mains and identify needed repairs through work orders and periodic inspections. To assist and provide professional and prompt support to military, government and contractor personnel as it relates to plumbing functions. To perform inspection, maintenance, and repair for water systems. Must maintain and repair water tanks, septic tanks, water lines and septic lines and conduct all work necessary to perform services such as: connection/disconnection of existing mains and branches; installation of valve stations and valves; maintain, test and repair fire hydrants, repair of all piping conveying water or wastewater, repair/replacement of all system components that are not IAW with plumbing codes or are failed/failing/unserviceable. All water and sewer utilities infrastructure shall be repaired and maintained IAW plumbing codes. Will also conduct all work necessary to perform services such as: connection/disconnection of existing mains and branches; installation of valve stations and valves; maintain, test and repair fire hydrants, repair of all piping conveying water or wastewater, repair/replacement of all systems’ components that are not IAW with plumbing codes or are failed/failing/unserviceable. Will be responsible for maintaining and repairing water tanks, septic tanks, water lines and septic lines. All work on all water and sewer utilities infrastructure shall be repaired and maintained IAW international, US, Air Force and PWS criteria and plumbing codes.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must be fully qualified to work on the USAF systems which one will be assigned to work on or must have previously obtained at least a USAF 5-level certification equivalent and possess at least three (3) years of experience. A minimum of three years (3) previous experience as a Plumber at a US Air Force Military Installation with similar mission/project in scope and nature. Must have previous experience working with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers. Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with working and communicating with the Government or military personnel. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must possess a journeyman license and have 3 or more years of related experience in the plumbing arena. Must maintain a valid state driver license and be qualified to operate government general-purpose vehicle.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Military and/or technical training in plumbing/water systems.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer candidate to have been an experienced and certified Plumber/Water Technician in the USAF.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Requires climbing, standing, bending, and working in cramped areas; lifting and carrying tools and equipment which occasionally may weigh over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have the ability to work well with others, to include the Government. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors.
