Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The following are the minimum duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer

  • Undertake teaching at the undergraduate/graduate levels in areas related to specialization
  • Provide timely feedback of coursework and exams and other kinds of assessments
    Participate in the invigilation of exams
  • Prepare and administer all tools of assessment as appropriate
  • Contribute towards the development and review of courses and programs
  • Lead tutorials and provide general support and guidance to students
  • Maintain office hours to meet with students
  • Serve as an academic advisor to students
  • Supervise and participate in student extra-curricular activities
  • Keep up to date with advances in pedagogy
  • Maintain continuing professional development
  • Contribute and participate in faculty seminars
  • Serve the academic community by organizing seminars, conferences and editing papers and documents
  • Carry out the duties of the post in accordance with the policies and regulations of the college
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and provide an education that contributes to the academic mission of the college
  • Attend to other matters that may be assigned by the department Head, Associate Deans or Dean from time to time.
