The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. We’re looking for a HR Case Management Advisor to join us at Sellafield and innovative firearms training facility – Griffin Park.

This is a specialist role within our HR team, with the responsibility of ensuring the provision of a broad range of professional, generalist HR guidance, advice and support to managers and staff within business areas. The role will have a key focus on employee relations issues; including absence management and other HR complex case management activities. It is a hybrid role, with two days minimum a week at Sellafield and 1 to 2 days at Griffin Park.

Key accountabilities include:

• Ensure comprehensive understanding and application of all HR people policies and procedures as well as employment law in order to provide accurate, consistent, and timely advice.
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement processes.
• Provide robust case management approaches, ensure that all cases (formal and informal) are managed, recorded accurately, in a timely and in comprehensive manner within the HR Case Management System.
• Be responsible for own case load of varying complexity.
• Responsible for multiple complex cases from receipt through to its conclusion, ensuring proactive management/early invention and ensure that all records are updated accordingly.
• Utilise the systems and data to support case review and assessment of effectiveness against policy.
• Provide specialist HR advice to line managers on cases from informal stages to the completion of HR related procedures. Guide and assist managers in the accurate use of the processes and documentation to enable an effective journey through the above for all parties.
• Attend relevant Panels and Committees to advise on cases, coordinating and convening Case Management Discussion meetings.
• Provide mentorship and support in the management of resourcing and retention issues, sickness absence management – including attendance and advice at local Divisional Health Committees, employment relations issues and other key HR matters that arise within the business area.
• Ensure effective customer service, interfacing with other HR Case Management Advisors ensuring a detailed flow of information and knowledge sharing that underpins the HR lifecycle to inform decision making and change the experience to one of an accessible, consistent, and excellent service.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Essential:

• Certificate CIPD qualified (Level 5).
• Demonstrable experience of case management within a complex and changing environment
• Ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
• Experience of providing advice to all levels of personnel, from management to employees.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working to performance standards to drive and improve service and customer expectations.
• Experience and ability to provide basic analysis of a range of HR ‘lifecycle’ data to inform management reporting.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel throughout the UK.

Desirable

• Part/Full CIPD qualified
• Experience of supporting self-service functionality and the resulting changing customer dynamic.
