We are looking for a Global Payer Lead who is flexible, adaptable and a connector to join our Global Payer Portfolio department based out of our offices in Brussels, Belgium or Slough, UK.

About the role

You will be responsible for bringing payer insight, strategic thinking and technical expertise to all aspects of payer reimbursement and pricing strategy development in a way that optimizes the value of the asset to patients, payers and UCB. You will be a trusted and integrated leader that shapes & delivers robust payer strategies (access & price) to take into the candidate teams for new medicines in early stages of development. Additionally, the role requires payer access and pricing strategies to be built around those value propositions, ensuring they are based on insightful analysis of emerging trends in major payer systems around the world.

Who you’ll work with

You will report to the Global Payer Portfolio Head and will be part of the Asset Team and work closely with the payer sub team. You’ll also connect with the global asset payers team and learn how they shape influence across the portfolio.

What you’ll do

• Provide proactive leadership and orchestration of the complete global access and pricing strategy.
• Ensure a compelling and evidence-based value proposition.
• Align access and pricing assumptions with the target product profile and calibrate both to an appropriate level of ambition.
• Coordinate and drive the strategic acquisition of payer insight and its interpretation.
• Adapt ‘candidate’ strategies according to evolving understanding of the healthcare ecosystems in US, EU, China.
• Co-create and pressure test evidence generation and outcomes strategy.
• Develop a sound access strategy for major markets in line with the ‘candidate’ value proposition and UCB geographic strategy.
• Where multiple potential indications exist, propose indication sequence and access strategy across indications.
• Identify patterns of opportunity that are common across multiple ‘candidates’ in the new therapeutic area domain and engineer new approaches and strategies to maximize opportunities.
• Proactively identify and advise on in- and out-licensing opportunities based on strategic fit, asset knowledge and payer knowledge.
• Act as key partner, trusted expert and thought-leader to the Candidate Team and Patient Solutions Team.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

• Educated at least to MD, PharmD or graduate level in Life sciences or Economics.
• Experience in designing price & access strategies, overseeing market access, Health Economics/health outcomes-research or health policy.
• Strong leadership qualities especially leading by influence
• Dermatology experience is highly desirable
• Knowledge of both US and high-payer/HTA demand, key international health care systems
