Director of Food & Beverage Procurement

Key Purpose

The Director of Food & Beverage Procurement will lead the strategic procurement process to connect operational imperatives with preferred suppliers. He/She/They will take a broad, realistic view of issues or opportunities and anticipate future implications, with a clear recognition of the key business success factors, and the levers that can be used to impact top and bottom-line growth.

The successful candidate will have a significant understanding of – and experience in – procurement in the highly complex world of the food service industry. He/She/They will have demonstrated success at operational excellence, understanding the strategic and operational challenges inherent in such an undertaking. The successful candidate will possess a history of identifying and motivating talent, and he/she/they will be able to attract top talent to the organization through his/her/their reputation

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence

• Report to the Head of Supply Chain & Procurement of the Americas with direct support of the Guckenheimer CEO
• Support business leaders and stakeholders in Finance, People and Culture, Operations, Global Procurement, Center of Excellence, and Business Development
• Communicate effectively with colleagues within business units and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participate in project groups and meetings as required
• Promote the OneISS Vision within the ISS/Guckenheimer community
• Transfer best practice

Ideal Candidate Experience

• Bachelor’s degree Business, Engineering, Finance, or similar required
• Successful, 10+ year track record with significant experience in and successful navigation of global complex organizations and strategic sourcing; experience in food service is required
• Outstanding leadership skills with an ability to influence and gain alignment in a matrix environment
• Experience in leading in a highly ambiguous and complex environment with a key skill of driving simplicity
• Strong ability to create strategic supplier partnerships that creates a competitive advantage
• Strong experience in sourcing strategy creation and execution (e.g. 7 Step sourcing)
• Expertise in conducting complex analyses and distilling into a clear, concise business allocation
• Strong facilitation and project management skills
• Strong ability to interface with all levels, departments and Operating Companies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be credible with a strong reputation for honesty and integrity, this person is energetic, proactive, and imaginative.
• Must demonstrate professionalism and composure and prioritizes work efficiently
• Must be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills; communicates effectively and honestly
• Must be a supportive leader who gives his/her staff the resources and the room to execute their responsibilities but is always available to provide help and counsel; ensures that they have the tools, resources, and developmental opportunities needed to reach their career aspirations
• Must be able to draw upon a solid understanding of the business to critically evaluate pertinent issues, situations, and events; see clearly ahead, anticipate future consequences, and trends, and use a broad perspective to make innovative and creative decisions
• Must seek to understand the customer experience, and approach business decisions from the perspective of the customer
• Must be able to travel within the region as required

Key Accountabilities

• Leading and coordinating global supply chain strategies and drive value on a $300M annual spend
• Establishing and driving the execution of the sourcing strategies for the key spends which includes but is not limited to Linens, Cleaning Supplies, Flatware, Disposables, Glassware, Proteins, Produce, Dairy, Dry & Frozen Groceries, Seafood, Spirits, Soft Drinks, Beer, Wine, as well as other key spends as may be identified
• Be responsible for leading a small team that provides sourcing, analytical and strategy support for all our Operating Companies
• Work with the Head of Supply Chain & Procurement and other leaders of the Operating Companies as may be needed on strategic development initiatives; provide ongoing leadership for these initiatives
• Participate in developing and ensuring business analytics and reporting is established for targeted areas of responsibility
• Provide project management leadership which will include overseeing and ensuring quality delivery of assigned projects; collect, measure, report and communicate progress with key stakeholders

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

The annual salary range for this position is $130000 per year – $200000 per year Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
