An exciting opportunity to join a non profit as a Director, Communications to lead and shape a comprehensive communication and content strategy that align with organizational goals.

This is a fulltime permanent position that offers a hybrid work model located in Toronto.

Reporting to the VP of Sales, Marketing, and Membership, this individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization delivers impactful content across multiple channels, providing members with the resources and insights needed to excel in their roles. The position will involve close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders to enhance brand visibility, maintain consistency, and continuously evolve content offering

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the organization’s brand reputation and consistency, working alongside external public relations firms.
• Increase the organization’s media presence through proactive outreach and relationship management.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to develop an annual content strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.
• Ensure the seamless execution of the content strategy, tracking its progress, and introducing innovations when needed.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance member engagement.
• Manage the production and distribution of non-educational content that is aligned with the organization’s brand across various platforms.
• Grow the organization’s online community, particularly on professional networks like LinkedIn.
• Stay updated on external trends and developments that impact the organization’s strategic goals.
• Lead internal communications to foster effective employee engagement.
• Mentor and develop a team of direct reports, including a Digital Content Lead and a Communications Manager.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of experience in communications, content strategy, or related fields.
• Advanced degree in communications or public relations. Professional certification such as SCMP is a plus.
• Experience working with senior executives and a strong understanding of governance practices.
• Proven ability to leverage content strategies for competitive advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) tools, SEO, and social media platforms.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with a creative and detail-oriented approach.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
