Job description
My client is an insurance firm operating in the Lloyd’s market and are seeking a number 2 for their company secretarial department.
The role will be a Deputy Company Secretary to work with the UK Company Secretary who I placed with them.
The team is made up of this role and the Co-Sec which is appropriate considering the complexity of their structure.
That means that they need someone who is seasoned enough to be put in front of investors but also happy to carry out the slightly more administrative side as well.
This this would suit someone who is a Senior Assistant Co-Sec looking for a step up more than a seasoned Deputy Co-Sec who’s really looking to move into the top job.
There will always be a need to get involved in the more strategic side but whoever joins has to be happy dealing with the more day to day as well.
Whilst insurance experience would be useful the Co-Sec has plenty and that can be learned. It would be advantageous to have financial services but I would say they could look pas that if you can demonstrate the following:
– Written and verbal communication skills to demonstrate you can liaise directly with investors
– High degree of comfort with minuting
– Share plan exposure
They are such a lovely bunch of people and this is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up into a Deputy Co-Sec role. The culture is excellent, the pay is competitive and the role should be really interesting.
Applicants will need to show extensive governance/company secretarial experience to be considered and sponsorship won’t be possible for this hire
