Clinical Nurse Specialist
Patient Support Program (Long-Term Care)
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will help Merz Therapeutics deliver best-in-class clinical support and customer service to HCPs and patients. This role will support the Merz Therapeutic long-term care business.

Job description:
We are looking to hire a full-time RPN – Registered Practical Nurse or RN – Registered Nurse to coordinate and support specialty medical clinics at long-term care homes across Ontario.
The preferred candidates would bring at least 2 yrs. experience within the long-term care environment.
You are also:
• Living within the East GTA or Eastern Ontario
• An excellent communicator
• Highly organized & comfortable working independently
• Caring & compassionate
• Ability to travel by car daily & occasionally overnight (car allowance provided)
• A good problem-solver
• Comfortable speaking to small groups
• Valid Ontario driver’s license
Description of duties:
Clinical:
• Assist physicians during long-term care specialty medical clinics:
• Organize all necessary supplies before clinic
• Reconstitute injectable medications
• Assist with the patient assessment or injections
• Prepare and setup EMG, ultrasound, or other equipment
• Prepare the patient room pre and post procedure
• Counsel patients, caregivers, and staff
• Perform infection prevention and control procedures
Administrative Duties:
• Communicate with the long-term care home staff before and after clinics:
• Confirm visit details with designated LTC contact person (date/time & purpose of visit)
• Contact the pharmacy provider to confirm all medication needs
• Communicate with the physician to schedule clinics
• Counsel patients, POAs or caregivers as directed by the physician
Educational:
• Provide medical education to Long Term Care staff medical staff
