We are looking for 2 Variable Hours Waiting Staffs to join our Catering & Retail Services Office at House of Lords. This is a position where will work as part of a team to ensure that the highest standards of service and presentation is offered at all times to Peers, Guests, and Staff of the House.

The post holder will have flexibility with regard to working hours and should expect to work variable shifts when the demands of the House and business require it. The post will predominantly be based within the Peers Dining Room Group, which comprises of 5 various bars and restaurants, serving Peers and their guests – however, the holder may move to other outlets within CRS, depending on business requirements.

Variable hours staff are booked one week ahead according to business needs and their availability. Variable hours staff may be working in different outlets (Restaurants, Bars and Banqueting) depending on the needs of the Department and require a range of service skills.

This is an opportunity to work onsite at Parliament! This is an exciting opportunity for someone that likes a fast-paced environment and ensuring that the highest standards of service and presentation is offered at all times.

Youll Be Accountable For/to

• Table mise-en-place.
• Station mise en-place for lunch, tea service and dinner.
• Preparation of sauces and condiments.
• Achieve familiarity with items printed on the menu and the way they are cooked and served, along with a working knowledge of the wine list to recommend choices to customers.
• To greet and receive Members and guests in your allocated area.
• Take food and drink orders ensuring prompt and accurate service.
• Serve food and drink ordered to guests according to standards set by the Line Manager.
• Ability to use and manage the EPOS system.
• To observe and adhere to daily and weekly additional duties check list.
• Observe all legislative requirements including those concerning hygiene, food, health and safety at work.

What Were Looking For

• Have experience of working in a high profile (preferably 4* or 5*) establishment.
• Great Customer Service skills.
• A Basic understanding of Health & Safety.
• To be able to work well in a team environment.
